In 2000, following customer demand for training and development services, Midland Business Training was created to provide specific tailored business programmes to the SME sector. Melanie Guing Ryan is the primary tutor and co-ordinator for delivery of all programmes, with associates delivering modules in their area of expertise.
In 2014 Sean Ryan joined the business bringing a range of skills acquired from his work at senior levels in the public service & semi state sector. In particular his experience in Human Resources and as Chief Executive Officer with Offaly County Enterprise Board Ltd expanded the range of services being provided by Midland Business Training.

Melanie Guing Ryan MBA, MII, AAT, HDip Social Studies, founded Midland Business Training in 2000. A Certified Training Professional, Business Mediator, Facilitator, Mentor and External Supervisor for over 20 years. Melanie is a graduate of NUI Maynooth, with qualifications in Social Studies, Business Psychology, Master's Degree in Conflict Intervention and Mediation which dealt with research on the cost of conflict and effective behaviours in business. Melanie and Midland Business Training are dedicated to working with business start-ups around the complex area of human behaviour, focusing on capacity building and leadership through self-awareness and conflict resolution.
With a conscientious work ethic and motivational positive attitude, Melanie has a true understanding of the issues facing business people today, and with a motto of "Always keep it simple" she delivers training sessions and workshops, in a dynamic and fresh style that is people centered and has a lasting impact on participants.

Patricia is a chartered accountant with over twenty years post-qualification experience, gained largely in the SME sector working in owner-manager businesses. She was appointed "Centre Coordinator" in Portlaoise Enterprise Centre (PEC) in November 2016. She looks after the day-to-day running of the Centre and liaises with all in-house client businesses to help support and develop their connections with local agencies where appropriate.
Patricia boasts a BA in Accounting and Finance, an EDI Diploma in Teaching ICT Skills in addition to being a FETAC Level 6 Train the Trainer.
Kevin has over 14 years of retail management experience and has worked for some of the largest retailers in Ireland including Dunnes Stores, SuperValu and Superquinn. Kevin's passion for IT and Digital Marketing led him to open his own business in 2018, Digital Solutions Ireland. His new business focuses on supporting SME's with services including web design, graphic design, printing, social media management and virtual offices. He also researched, developed and published his own app, Visit Carlow to the various app stores. This app showcases all the places to see and things to do in Co. Carlow and so far has been downloaded in over 20 countries worldwide.
Qualified as a PE teacher, Patsy is general manager of the UCC Mardyke Arena Sports & Leisure facility in Cork. Regarded as one of the largest and progressive facilities of its type in Ireland Patsy brings a wealth of senior management experience to the team. Highly regarded for his work in leisure he offers an extensive knowledge of the industry, not alone in Ireland but internationally having attended and presented papers for international conferences in Europe and North America.
